The West of England Shomrim Network is dedicated to the belief that building strong, positive relationships across diverse communities is essential to reducing prejudice, bigotry, and, crucially, antisemitism. We understand that fostering understanding and cooperation between different groups not only enhances security but also promotes social cohesion. By leveraging our expertise in security and community outreach, we aim to make practical, lasting contributions that go beyond just our community, helping to tackle hate and discrimination at its root.
As part of our outreach efforts, we provide expert security advice and support to other religious and ethnic communities in the region. Recognising that safety concerns are shared across different groups, we collaborate to help create a safer and more inclusive environment for all. This collaboration strengthens interfaith bonds and helps to reduce misunderstanding, fear, and prejudice, contributing directly to a decline in all forms of hate.
Our volunteers are deeply involved in conversations with local council representatives, the police, and other key stakeholders, ensuring that the voices of all communities, including the Jewish community, are heard. By working closely with local authorities, we help address the broader concerns of safety and hate crimes in a thoughtful, inclusive way. We participate in forums, safety briefings, and interfaith programs that foster mutual respect and build understanding between different cultural and religious groups.
Through our outreach initiatives, we focus not only on immediate security needs but also on long-term inter-community relationship building. We are committed to reducing all forms of prejudice, believing that, through collaboration, education, and engagement, we can build a more united, resilient, and respectful society.
